Rise up is a values implementation programme that encourages and empowers Early Childhood Development principals, teachers, parents and learners to rise up in their community and to embed values for behavioural change.
Our training started with the Inceba mentors and staff to identify healthy values and any that need to be improved on. We used this training as a launchpad to link with parents and volunteers in the community.
Our simple but powerful values are taught and implemented on a daily basis at the preschools and at home. Through training with the educators, principals and parents as well as practical daily implementation healthy values are changing the way we do daily life with our children!
Inceba Trust is a non-profit organisation that supports ECD centres, caregivers and communities to prepare children in body, mind and spirit for a future filled with hope, confidence and courage. Rise Up was developed in order to support the Inceba Trust in their efforts to address the need to incorporate healthy values into children's lives during the preschool age. This is because a child who is academically and physically strong, but still doesn't have healthy values, will still not be able to make healthy choices throughout their lives. It is the values deficit in our communities which is the root cause behind many of the challenges that we face.
Inceba partners with Legacy Dads. Legacy Dads focuses on equipping, encouraging and supporting fathers in order for them to be able to engage their children. Many fathers have never had an example of a healthy father, Legacy Dads comes alongside these men, helping them to deal with past struggles and hurt and supports them in being involved and loving dads to their children. Rise up helps to set a solid foundation of values that fathers can build into their own lives and into their children's.
